Tour d’Orange 2013

This is another slideshow of cool cars I’ve stumbled upon while wandering aimlessly amongst various car cliques, with friends and family – as I find others I’ll get them posted…

Tour d’ Orange is a relatively new Southern California tradition.  On January 1, a bunch of motorheads (all types of cars welcome) do a drive along the beach and through some canyons in Orange County and meet for some burgers afterward.

With the exception of a small amount of ass-hatery, it’s a pretty cool event.

These are photos mostly of old hot rods and muscle cars (which I don’t get to see so often).

Antique Cars, Planes and Motorcycles

From the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) Website – “The WAAAM Air & Auto Museum has one of the largest collections of still-flying antique aeroplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country.”

It had been a while since I’d been through the museum, but I had the chance over the weekend to do so, and have they ever added a lot.

This is an amazing collection of cool old stuff.  Most of it is good ole’ American transportation and engineering history, with a spattering of other things that any baby boomer would remember from childhood.

Also, any kid would have fun and learn lots from looking at these things – old, unrestored autos, motorcycles and airplane motors, plus cool old Americana antiques.

What a great place for kids of any age – The museum is located at the Hood River Airport (Ken Jernstedt Airfield) – plan a visit!
