PDR Described by MSN Autos

MSN Autos is an online automotive resource with a large editorial staff that provides unbiased information about cars.  A while back they did a story about Paintless Dent Removal which answers many questions I am often asked about PDR.

So here it is: MSN Autos on PDR

Why the Pro’s Use PDR

Today, consumers have access to more information and are better informed than ever.  Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve noticed that companies like Carfax are providing a valuable resource to car buyers (and sellers).  These services collect information about any type of repair that has occurred on any vehicle – yours, for example.  As with detailing, Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is not part of such reports – and, reputable automobile dealers and other industry insiders use both services extensively.  Hint, hint, nudge, wink…

Dealers are also quite experienced in assessing the condition of a vehicle being traded-in, or being returned at the end of a lease – paint repairs ARE distinguishable.  Perhaps, you’ve heard “old timers” quip about trading a vehicle in at night, in the rain…?  Well, they’ve quipped about the “fad” of selling cars on those “internets”, too.  Just as a “clean” car has more value, so does a car that is “dent-free”.

PDR is a modest investment that can add hundreds of dollars in value to your vehicle.  Damage free autos are coveted by dealers because they know that their customers will pay a premium for a well cared for car.

Repairing cars with expensive paint jobs (even if its a Pinto) is much more economical with PDR.

Car collectors and enthusiasts also use PDR.  If you know the feeling of pride you get just after you’ve washed and detailed your car – I’m talking to you…  The reason nicely maintained cars make us feel good, is that they are a reflection upon us.  So, don’t use PDR just because you’ll make more money when you sell your car – use PDR because it makes you (and your car) happy!!!
