What Does a $95 Dent Look Like?

A dent like this is typical of the damage a vehicle owner will call a paintless dent repair company about.  For people that take care of their cars, a small dent like this (about the size of a nickel) can be a stressful thing to look at every day…

This was a used SUV for sale at a new car store.  Many dealers will ALWAYS fix a dent like this – it detracts from the value of a nice car.  A dealer wants to present the best product possible, and fixing this dent is part of that process.

And, this is a simple dent to repair.  Even though it was a medium sized “door ding”, it was on a flat(ish) panel, with easy access and only slightly stretched.

All that said, a $95 dent sometimes looks like this…

Formula SAE – November 2013

These are some pictures of a recent Formula SAE test in Dallesport.

Formula SAE is a student design competition organized by SAE International (SAE, previously known as the Society of Automotive Engineers). The competition was started in 1978 and was originally called SAE Mini Indy.

I took these photos last weekend at the “top secret” test facility that we use to test race cars (and try other silly stuff we shouldn’t do on public roads…).  The Formula SAE teams from around the Northwest started coming here a few years ago when one of the local kids (who is now a full time race engineer) got involved in the program.  I LOVE this stuff!!!
